Jersey Reds Women ended their league campaign with a brilliant 49-0 home victory against Swanage & Wareham on Sunday in challenging weather conditions.
Taye Boakye-Yiadom lead the way to the line with 4 tries, Kerry Bertam added a hat-trick, with Emily Hart adding 2 more (including a full length effort in the 2nd half). Boakye-Yiadom and Georgie Keens each added 1 goal.
The victory sends the Reds to top spot in NC South 2. By doing this they have put pressure on Southampton who host Swanage next week in the league final fixture. Whilst Southampton will be favourites to take the league crown, Jersey have done all they can to ensure that only a win will be enough for their rivals.
Whatever the result next week, George Eastwell will be very proud of his squad and their massive improvement throughout the second half of the season. 7 league wins on the bounce is a fantastic achievement, as their attentions will now focus on the Siam Cup fixture on 11th May and the friendly fixtures they will play in the build up to this key match.
