Turning St Peter pink on charity match day

09/08/2014

Players and supporters are being urged to 'think pink' when the
second home league match of the forthcoming season is dedicated to
the After Breast Cancer charity.

The match against Rotherham Titans on Saturday September 27th
(KO is at 3pm) will be a themed affair, with the
RFU sanctioning a one-off pink strip (pictured below)
produced by kit sponsors Kukri which will be worn by
Jersey's players as they take on last season's play-off
semi-finalists.

Supporters are encouraged to get involved, and tables are
available for lunch in a marquee on site. Female supporters are
being offered the chance to win prizes for best hat, best dressed
and highest heels, and there'll be a discounted admission rate of
£10 (non-members) and £5 (members) for all ladies wearing pink to
the game, which is sponsored by IFM Group.

After Breast Cancer Jersey Support
Group (ABC)
holds regular meetings and organises events aimed
at promoting and raising awareness of breast cancer support in
Jersey. All funds raised on the day will go to ABC, and every penny
of this will stay on the Island for the group's valuable work.

There'll be plenty of action in the marquee throughout the day,
with audience participation events during lunch and a post-match
auction of some of the Jersey players' shirts.

"We want to create a really special atmosphere at St Peter on
the day, encouraging as many people as possible to get involved in
supporting the team against Rotherham, and at the same time raising
awareness and funds for a really worthwhile local cause."

Tables in the marquee cost £700 for 10 people - to guarantee
availability, bookings should be made as soon as possible to

The Jersey players are entering the final phase of their
build-up to the Greene King IPA Championship season, which starts
on September 6th. Ahead of this date, Jersey play three pre-season
matches at St Peter:

* August 16th: Jersey v Ayr (4pm)
* August 23rd: Jersey v Bath (3pm)
* August 30th: Jersey v Blackheath (4pm)

Tickets for the Ayr and Bath games are now available, priced £5

Blackheath game will be part of a family day at the club, which
also includes a game between Jersey Athletic and Blackheath
Heathens at 12noon - admission on this date will be free.

Jersey's first league match at St Peter will be when Doncaster
