Saltgate has recently come on board as the new sponsors of the Jersey RFC Colts for the 2015/2016 season. Kevin Lemasney, JRFC Minis & Juniors President, expressed the Club’s appreciation when he commented that “We are delighted to welcome Saltgate as the new sponsor for our Colts. In talks with the leadership team at Saltgate, I have been impressed with their company ethos and desire to make a difference in the community. They have been hugely generous to the squad and we hope to work closely with the team in the months and years to come.”
Saltgate hopes to be able to help the club create a fantastic environment for the players so that the Colts can enjoy a successful season. The partnership is already bearing fruit with a new coaching team comprising Alex Rae (1st team captain), Graham Howgate and David Felton being appointed to the Colts and a brand new playing kit being designed.
The lead sponsor representative, Toby Clyde-Smith, who himself played for the JRFC Colts and went on to represent the 1st team from 2007-2012 before joining the team at Saltgate, has expressed his delight at the prospect.
“I am extremely excited that we have an opportunity to play a key role in the development of local talent, not only in sport but in business and the community too. The JRFC Colts have already produced some exciting players on the field including Matt Banahan, Michael Le Bourgeois and Ed Dawson, whilst many ex-Colts have gone on to lead successful careers in the financial services industry and the wider community. Colts rugby is the pinnacle of the academy set-up and we look forward to working closely with JRFC to help the Colts reach their potential, both on and off the field.”
Kevin Lemasney concluded ‘Having secured a great win in their most recent away match against Gosport and Fareham at the end of November, there’s no doubt that the JRFC Colts are in good hands. A hearty thanks again to Saltgate for coming on board!"
