Jersey hunting win on home patch

15/11/2013

Ben Harvey continues to tinker with
his best outfit, making five changes to his starting line-up for
Jersey's return to St Peter after two weeks on the road with the
arrival and challenge of Cornish Pirates (Kick Off
15:00).

Ed Dawson

The Islanders will be hoping for a
strong home crowd to roar them on to an important victory against
Ian Davies' Pirates who sit fifth in the league
standings.

Harvey makes three changes in the
backs with Nicky Griffiths replacing Jimmy Williams in the nine
jersey, Drew Locke given the chance at full-back and the
instrumental Dai Bishop returning from injury to line-up at the
familiar inside centre position.

There are only two changes in the
pack as Nick Campbell also recovers from injury to start at second
row next to skipper Alex Rae, whilst Latu Makaafi, who impressed on
the bench against London Scottish, starts at blindside flanker have
shaken off a broken jaw. Ben Maidment makes the move to eight where
he is equally comfortable and played most of his time at
Pirates.

At prop Sean McCarthy and David Young
both continue their impressive form having shared the Azure Trust
Man of the Match Award last weekend as the scrum remains a valuable
asset of the Jersey artillery.

Harvey fields another strong
replacements bench, including the now versatile Nick Selway who
will cover both hooker and tight-head prop. Islander' James Voss
again makes the 22 as the DoR names a 4:3 split on the substitutes
bench. Aaron Penberthy completes the former Pirates contingent in
the Jersey squad as no less than six ex-Penzance based players are
named to face their former Club.
