Jersey comfortably retain Siam Cup

04/05/2014

Jersey won the Siam Cup for the sixth year running, beating
Guernsey 7-38 at the Garenne Stand.

The men in red scored three tries in each half to secure a
hard-fought victory against a home side who made light of the
three-level gap in league status between the sides.

Jersey's try scorers were Nicky Griffiths, Ed Dawson, Mark
Foster, Joe Buckle, Sam Lockwood and Tom Brown, with a brace of
conversions from both Niall O'Connor and Joel Dudley. Dale Rutledge
claimed the late consolation for the Sarnians, converted by Sam
Whitehead.

Jersey also lifted the Fallaize Cup for 2nd teams, winning
24-43, and staged a thrilling comeback in the Veterans match -
Jersey Wanderers trailed 24-7 at half-time but scored 26 unanswered
points thereafter to win the Nash Cup. Guernsey won the Ladies Siam
by 27-10.
