Jersey conceded a late try to finish on the wrong end of a three-point defeat to the Newport Gwent Dragons Premiership Select XV.
The match at Pandy Park, home of Cross Keys RFC, was a tight encounter and Jersey fought back well after trailing 17-7 at one stage late in the first half.
A strong second half saw the scores levelled and then a penalty try put the visitors clear, only for the late try to decide the game.
