Jersey Reds will host Leinster 'A' at Stade Santander International in the semi-final of the B&I Cup on Saturday 21st April with kick-off set for 3pm.
/* Ticket details */ Advance tickets for this game are just £10 for all adult spectators (including members and season ticket holders) or £5 for students. Order your tickets by 3pm on Friday April 20th, as they will increase at that point to £12 and £7 respectively. Link to the Eventbrite site HERE
The Reds have come up against Leinster four times previously in the pool stages of the cup, firstly in 2012-13, the year that Leinster went on to lift the cup for the first time in a tight final against Newcastle Falcons, and then again in the 2014-15 season. On each occasion it is the Irish who have prevailed, and only Joel Dudley and Nick Selway remain from that year's squad.
Leinster qualified for the knock-out stage of this season's competition as winners of Pool 2, and then dethroned last season's champions Munster 'A' in the quarter-final, winning 17-6 at home on Good Friday in wet and tricky conditions.
Home advantage could well be a deciding factor, and Head Coach Harvey Biljon is encouraging as many supporters as possible to get behind the team. As he said following the 22-10 win over Doncaster Knights, "We have a massive opportunity now in the semi-final to put on a performance in front of our home support and I hope there'll be plenty here to cheer us on."
Nobody is under any illusion to the challenge that an organised Leinster side will pose. It was their tight defence that was credited for the win against their Irish opponents, so Jersey will have to be at their best. Leinster are without doubt one of the powerhouses of European rugby, with a large and talented squad to choose from.
Table bookings for lunch can be made by emailing Sean Dunne or calling the office on 499929. The cost for a table of 10 is £850 + GST.
In the other semi-final Ealing Trailfinders will host Bedford Blues - this game also kicks off at 3pm on Saturday.
