Women take the points in momentous away victory

Jersey Reds Women maintained their excellent recent form and confidence, with a brilliant 21-14 away victory over rivals Southampton on Saturday.

The Reds managed to avenge their home defeat from earlier this season with a near-identical result from first time around. Southampton won the game at St.Peter, 22-14!

Despite going down 14-0 inside the opening quarter, Jersey battled back magnificently to secure maximum points, which moves them up to 2nd place in Women's NC South 2.

Returning Centre Sophie Lee continued her scoring run from 2018, with a brace of tries. Wing Roxy Rice adding the Reds other score. Kim Vallance was again sharp with the boot, adding 3 conversions.

The Women now have a rest period following a hectic start to the New Year. The next fixture will be at home against league leaders Amesbury on Sunday 24th Feb.
