Reds fall just short against Exiles

Full-time: London Scottish 27 Jersey Reds 24. Another tight scoreline on the road for the Reds and once again they fell agonisingly short.
The home side made a strong start with a Jennings penalty and then a try by Ingall to make it 10-0.
The second quarter was a great passage for the Reds who scored no fewer than four tries. Leroy Van Dam claimed the first, then Auguy Slowik's kick-chase brought his side level. A mauled try finished by Selway and another Van Dam score and it was 10-24 at the break.
Frustratingly the visitors couldn't score after the break, while the hosts got back into it with a try by Smith. Then Selway was sin-binned for a knock-on that was ruled deliberate and during his absence Jennings slotted another kick and then converted a try by replacement Harding.
The visitors could have snatched maximum points if two late lineouts had sparked a successful maul, but the Scots managed to repel it and keep their lead to the whistle. The Reds took two league points, the winners claimed four.
