Rugby club backs new Island lottery

The inaugural Jersey Sports Lottery, which launches today (Tuesday) is a key part of fund-raising work to help Jersey Reds buy back the club assets which were sold last November.

The Lottery, which offers £300,000 in prize money, is a collaborative effort between 26 different sporting organisations and clubs, each of which will be raising money to help cover their costs, including their facilities and the cost of travel and accommodation when competing outside of the Island.

Lottery tickets cost £150 each, with a top prize of £250,000 and further cash prizes worth a total of £50,000 to be won. The club or organisation which sells the ticket will receive £90 from each sale. Five thousand tickets are on sale, with the draw taking place on Friday May 18th, 2018.

Tickets will be available from the Clubhouse and Jersey Pearl outlets in St Helier, St Ouen, Gorey and Jersey Airport; we hope all members and supporters of Jersey rugby will play their part by buying tickets as well as promoting the Lottery among their family, friends and work colleagues.

As an added incentive, the first 100 Jersey Reds members to purchase tickets from the club will also be entered into another draw - the winner will get their 2017/18 membership fee, plus the cost of a season ticket, refunded in credit to their members' smart card - this is worth £220.50 to an adult member.
