If you are new to rugby you are very welcome to try out for 2-3 weeks before committing to the membership fees however you MUST complete a registration form containing vital medical and contact information PRIOR to taking part in your first session, and all fees will then be due. If you have already registered, please arrive for a warm up at 8.45am, we start training promptly at 9.
Essential information - FROM THE SECOND TRAINING SESSION OF THE SEASON WE WILL OPERATE A "NO GUM SHIELD NO PLAY" RULE. Parents, we would encourage you to make this your childs responsibility each and every week, along with making sure they have their boots and a filled water bottle.
PLEASE MARK ALL KIT WITH YOUR CHILDS NAME! This includes boots, water bottles, bags, tops, shorts and socks. We had a great deal of kit left over at the end of last season that was all handed in to Lost Property.
The U7's have the pleasure of being able to train on Pitch 1 this season, however to ensure that the pitch is not damaged though overuse only players and coaches are allowed onto the pitch. Parents, please use the stands around the periphery and do not go onto the pitch unless invited.
Note that the clubhouse will be open for tea, coffee and bacon rolls however as you are required to remain pitchside in case of incidents, please do come back to view from the stands once you have your refreshments.

Remember when coaches are selecting squads they are looking for the 5 'A's'. Good rugby players have and always will display the 5 'A's':-
**** PLEASE REMEMBER TO WEAR YOUR TAG BELTS ****
We train from 9am (sharp) to 10.15am every Sunday. We play 'MIXED tag' rugby (no contact allowed) following RFU guidelines. This is a safe and enjoyable introduction designed to introduce children to a lifetime of rugby. We aim to ensure that ALL our squad reach their maximum potential through fun training sessions with qualified coaches with particular focus on ensuring the children are having FUN!!
A typical Sunday training session is as follows:-
8.45am - Arrive (with tag belts on) and warm up under coaches guidance
9.00am - Rugby skills development
9.45am - Game play
10.15am - finish
TOP TIPS FOR ALL U7 PLAYERS AND PARENTS
Your child will be given a tag belt when they attend their first training session. Please ensure your child arrives each week in the appropriate kit and with their tag belt on.
THE ESSENTIAL KIT YOU NEED IS TO PLAY:
Rugby or football boots
OPTIONAL KIT BUT STRONGLY ADVISED:-
'Skins' - underlayers for the cold days
Fingerless rugby gloves
Both the above are available from the M&J Shop or JSSK sports shops in town.
FINALLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY.....
We train come rain, snow or shine so please make sure every player is 'layered up" for training and has a woolly hat (no bobbles!!) - the club version available from the shop on a Sunday morning is a good option.
This is so important if the players are going to enjoy winter training - a t-shirt and shorts is just not enough - we can always take layers off but shivering players are unhappy bunnies!!
Please make sure each player has a change of clothes and a towel on wet days - it really helps afterwards.
Finally, gum shields - they are a must and are for the players welfare - tag rugby is not a contact sport but, as in all sports, accidents can happen. “Boil in the bag" gum shields can be bought from as little as £5 and they do help. From the second training session of the season we will operate a "no gum shield no play" rule.
