The Jersey Rugby Development Officer (RDO) is tbc and the Community Rugby Coach (CRC) is Sadie Ruellan who can be contacted on email@example.com or 07797 741132.
The RDO/CRC organises the courses for coaches through the RFU, including 'Rugby Ready', 'Kid's First Tag Rugby', 'RFU First Aid' and 'Level 1 & Level 2 Coaching'.
Please approach your Lead Coach or Manager in the first instance if you would like to develop your skills.
There is also a very important annual Safeguarding Course for all coaches, which is organised by the Club Safeguarding Office (CSO), Ruth Thomas - firstname.lastname@example.org or 07797 828 612
The RDO/CRC also organises Half-Term and Summer training camps and they are always looking for assistants to help run these events - this an excellent way of picking up some coaching tips !.
The Minis & Juniors are always looking at ways to improve and expand in Jersey; if any of you have time, why not offer your services and skills to your local Primary School for after school sessions. Once again liaise with teh RDO/CRC on this.
There are many organisations offering coaching tips for commercial gain; however all Lead Coaches prepare their sessions in advance, using their experience - they will share with you their thoughts. If you would like to be considered for a Lead Coaches Role in the future, why not ask if you can prepare and deliver an age group session. To get an idea of the skills of managing the youngsters, do watch Dave McCormack in action with the Colts on a Tuesday or Thursday evening - he combines an encyclopedic knowledge of the game with his experience as a teacher at De La Salle.
